Cost Control Engineer – Mechanical (Oil & Gas / Maintenance – Construction), Saudi Arabia

Job Summary:

Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling project costs for mechanical work within downstream Oil & Gas projects. Ensures accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to support effective project decision-making and maintain project budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project cost control systems, procedures, and reporting tools.
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and cost variances.
  • Prepare cost breakdown structures (CBS) and ensure alignment with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Track quantities, resources, and productivity to ensure accurate cost monitoring.
  • Prepare periodic cost reports including actual vs. budget analysis, forecasts, and variance.
  • Review subcontractor invoices, progress measurements, and material purchase records.
  • Conduct cost trend analysis and identify potential overruns or risks.
  • Support the preparation of cash flow forecasts and budget updates.
  • Evaluate change orders, claims, and variations with respect to cost impact.
  • Maintain accurate cost data, logs, and documentation in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in cost control for Oil & Gas projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring.
  • Familiarity with WBS, CBS, project schedules, and earned value management (EVM).
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.

Location: Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia

Salary: R1mil cash per annum negotiable, plus expat benefits (family status)
